Bachelor Auction Aftermath: Part 1

First rule of Bachelor Auction fundraisers: do not schedule it at the same time as the final episode of the most popular sitcom in television history.

I don't own a TV and had no idea what I was up against when we booked the venue ... but the die was cast over three weeks ago and all we could do was promote the living daylights out of our event and pray enough people show up.

There were a number of guerilla-marketing tactics (i.e. "Operation Sausage") I rolled out in cooperation with Christy that yielded a hysterically amusing subchapter of this story I'll have share in Bachelor Auction Aftermath: Part 2, but suffice it to say, we got enough bodies in the door to make it a success.

Logistical nightmares and competition with 'Friends' notwithstanding, the final tally of this evening's Bachelor/Bachelorette auction is over $1200 raised for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Whoo baby!

And a big THANK YOU goes out to our wonderful MC Lisa Slade for keeping it all together! :)

The hour is late, so I leave you with pictures ...
