There are quiet moments between meetings, social events and group dinners where I just close my eyes and escape into my imagination for as long as I can hold the moment ...
*Splash* ... you're in a shallow marble pool of infinite horizontal dimensions ... ripples cascading from your waist out, reflecting light from a setting sun in the distance.
You're in a hammock on a warm summer's evening, sipping fresh-squeezed lemonade with just a hint of bourbon, halfway through a great novel and listening to the faint creaking of the ropes, that hold you aloft between the twin oak trees that tower over your home.
And the moment is gone.
It's as close to a vacation as I can get these days ... but we take what we can.
Wish I knew who to trust. Wish I knew who to love. Wish I had the time to figure it all out.
